The Marathi Sahitya Parishad (Mauritius) is a proud educational and cultural institution dedicated to promoting the Marathi language and heritage in Mauritius.
Initially, it was affiliated with the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture and the Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad, Pune (India). The Marathi Sahitya Parishad, Mauritius stands as the first and largest registered educational body offering Primary and Secondary Marathi Education on the island.
Founded in July 1969 by Prof. Gajanan Purushotam Joshi, a visionary educator and then-lecturer at the Teachers’ Training College, Marathi Sahitya Parishad has played a pioneering role in shaping generations of Marathi teachers and students.
With 15 affiliated schools across the island, the Marathi Sahitya Parishad currently serves around 200 students on a yearly basis, guided by qualified teachers.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
The Marathi Sahitya Parishad, Mauritius runs classes throughout the whole academic year from January till November culminating with an Annual Examinations in November-December. Its curriculum consists of a structured and comprehensive syllabus rooted in the rich grammar and literary traditions of Maharashtra.
